Capernaum Sailors’ Cheerleading Squad

Children ages five and up with physical and cognitive disabilities participate in cheerleading. Each session the kids learn cheers and skills, culminating in a cheerleading performance during an adaptive recreational t-ball team game, followed by an awards ceremony. Every child receives squad T-shirts, shorts and poms, as well as treats and beverages at each practice. Cheerleaders often take Adaptive Dance class during the school year.

Capernaum Sailors’ Adaptive Floor Hockey Team

For children ages 6-13 and adapted to each child’s ability, this 7-session program teaches passing, scoring, and goal tending. Older players serve as captains/role models to their younger team mates! Each player receives a T-shirt uniform and treats after each game. This therapeutic and fun team activity culminates in a final ceremony, with awards for each child’s accomplishments. Kids who play winter floor hockey often continue their friendships by participating in the summer T-ball team. (The parents/caregivers have fun together too!)
