What is your role at Capernaum?
I am a speech language pathologist in my clinical fellowship year! I just graduated this July from Minnesota State University – Mankato and am beginning my career with Capernaum and could not be more thrilled!
Why did you choose to become a therapist?
I chose to become a therapist due to a personal experience. My littlest sister is adopted and has had a variety of different disorders requiring the need for a speech therapist. I would often attend her sessions with my mom and loved the work they were doing with her and the impact it had on her life.
Schooling and background:
I am originally from Rapid City, SD. I decided to attend college at MSU-Mankato and completed my undergraduate and graduate career there! I now live in Hopkins, MN and recently had our first daughter, Remington Rose.
What made you desire to become a Capernaum team member?
I loved the ability to be part time so that I could spend more time with my daughter before jumping in full time. I also love the welcoming team and their mission. Capernaum feels like a place I can truly grow into and excel while being able to handle a family and work life.
Share something you look forward to working at Capernaum.
I look forward to growing into my career as it is my first year and learning from my mentor, Kerry!
What’s your favorite way to spend a free afternoon?
My favorite way to spend an afternoon is at the lake with my family! We love being on the water and in the sun.
